Chris Ogden is a Lecturer in Asian Security at the University of St. Andrews.
His 2010 Ph.D thesis 'Gear Shift: Hindu Nationalism and the Evolution of Indian Security' (University of Edinburgh) sought to show how domestic policy sources directly impact upon a state's external security policies - work explicitly concerned with constructed identities in international relations. His other research interests relate to identity and security politics in East Asia (especially concerning China) and South Asia, as well as the analytical uses of social psychology in International Relations. He is currently developing a project on the role of South Asian states in UN peacekeeping.
